What this blueprint gives you

Habit Loop is a small, warm room where five people you trust can see whether you showed up today — and gently say “come back” the moment you don’t. It is the opposite of a leaderboard. There are no points, no badges, no XP, no public streaks. There is one accent color that brightens as you stay, and four real humans who notice when you disappear.

The ring, not the network

Every member has exactly one ring — at most five people, hand-invited. No discovery, no friend-of-friend, no “people you may know.” If a ring member leaves, the gap quietly closes. The ring sees today’s check-ins on a calm feed; it does not rank, compare, or expose how many days anyone has strung together. The five people in your ring already know whether you’re showing up. The product just makes it visible.

Re-entry, not perfect attendance

Habit Loop’s opinion is that the failure mode of a habit isn’t missing Tuesday. It’s disappearing for a week without a word. The product is designed for the moment you come back, not for the day you broke the chain. The first message after a break is from a human in your ring, not a push notification.

A single warming accent

Visually, Habit Loop is a paper room. Cream canvas, dark ink, a serif heading. One accent — we call it ember — starts grey-paper at day one and reaches a deep saffron at day thirty. Nothing else changes color; only the streak. The chrome retracts; the habit is the page.

Five planning documents at senior-team depth

Ships with BRAND, MRD, BRD, PRD, and DESIGN documents written at the depth of a real product team. Includes a complete visual system, six production-grade mockups, and a styleguide that governs every component used across the screens.

BRAND — Habit Loop One line A small, warm room where five people you trust can see whether you showed up today — and gently say "come back" the moment you don't. The person we are for Iris is thirty one. Three years ago she woke at 6:30 every morning to draw at the kitchen table before her studio job. Then a bad project, then a worse year, and now the sketchbook lives in a drawer. She is not depressed. She is not unmotivated. She has simply lost the thread of a daily practice she used to know he

DESIGN — Habit Loop Design north star Open a Moleskine you used to write in. The page has been touched by a pen. The corners are softened, the paper is warm, the ink is dark. The only "interface" in the room is your handwriting and the small light it sits under. That is the product. We design at the opposite end of the productivity app spectrum. No bold accents. No glassmorphism. No "growth" geometry. We build a paper room. Information architecture Three top level surfaces 1. Today — the home sc

MRD — Habit Loop Market summary The consumer habit tracking category is large, mature, and structurally broken. App store rankings (Streaks, Habitica, Way of Life, Productive, Done, Strides) suggest a category in the hundreds of millions of cumulative downloads, but retention curves in published case studies and developer interviews consistently report 30 day retention under 12% for the top four paid apps. The category is downloaded in early January and abandoned by mid February, every year, on

BRD — Habit Loop Business model A consumer freemium subscription with a single paid tier. Habit Loop sells the ring, the unlimited habits, and the long form streak paper. The single user tracker is free and stays free. The thing the user is paying for is the social affordance, and the social affordance is the moat. We do not run advertising. We do not sell data. We do not have a B2B tier in year one. If we ever do, it will be a paid family plan, not a corporate wellness contract. Pricing Free ti

PRD — Habit Loop Product summary Habit Loop is a consumer mobile first app for tracking daily personal habits inside a closed ring of up to five trusted people. The user marks a habit each day; the ring sees the mark or its absence; when a streak breaks the ring is permitted, with a single one tap nudge, to gently invite the user back. The product is intentionally small in surface area and intentionally specific in tone. Primary persona Iris Bekkers — Illustrator and art director, 31, Brooklyn T
